Linking to DOIs (Digital Object Identifiers)

The example below shows how to create a url and persistent link to a DOI...

1. If the DOI is: 10.1016/j.nonrwa.2007.10.004, prefix it with the domain host http://dx.doi.org/ to create a valid url

http://dx.doi.org/10.1016/j.nonrwa.2007.10.004

2. To create a presistent link to it, prefix the UMS proxy prefix url http://www.library.umaine.edu/auth/EZProxy/test/authej.asp?url=

so that the resulting url is:

http://www.library.umaine.edu/auth/EZProxy/test/authej.asp?url=http://dx.doi.org/10.1016/j.nonrwa.2007.10.004
