Creating persistent links to E-Reserves (Docutek)This short tutorial is intended for faculty and staff who manage course reserve sites in the library's e-reserves system (Docutek) and want to create links from within WebCT, Blackboard or a course web site. You may create links at course level, at document course level, oe to the specific article. Linking at the course level: Each course web site has a unique course id # that allows the use of persistent linking. To find your course's persistent link, go to http://docutek.ursus.maine.edu and look up your course reserve page. Click on the course info tab to find your persistent link. This url can be used to link to your course reserve page, on a course level. See screen shot below.
Linking directly to your course documents page: To link directly to the documents page, click on the Documents tab and use the url displayed in the browser address bar. See screen shot below.
Linking directly to a specific file or article: Click on the Page Management tab and log into Eres using your course admin login. Click on the Documents tab and double click on a listed document. This next screen displays detailed information on the document.
Next, click on the Current Associations tab. Here you will find persistent links for individual documents. See below.
