IEEE XploreComplete full-text access to the IEEE/IET Electronic Library (IEL) - over 3.7 million documents from over 170 journals and magazines published by the IEEE and IET, along with transactions, conference proceedings and active IEEE standards. These publications are relevant to many disciplines, including electrical engineering, computer science, electronics, sensors, energy, aerospace, communications, nanotechnology and information technology. Indexing extends back to 1988 for all journals and conference proceedings and further back to 1872 for selected publications. The IEEE Xplore search platform allows simple keyword and phrase searching or complex search queries employing a variety of operators. It also offers an alerting service, saved searches, and other valuable Web 2.0 capabilities for users who register for free personal accounts. We have contracted for 15 simultaneous users.

SciTech ConnectContains energy-related citations created and/or collected by OSTI. There are over 2.5 million citations, including citations to 1.4 million journal articles, 364,000 of which have digital object identifiers (DOIs) linking to full-text articles on publishers’ websites. SciTech Connect also has over 313,000 full-text DOE sponsored STI reports; most of these are post-1991, but close to 85,000 of the reports were published prior to 1990. SciTech Connect includes technical reports, bibliographic citations, journal articles, conference papers, books, multimedia, and data information sponsored by DOE through a grant, contract, cooperative agreement, or similar type of funding mechanism from the 1940s to today. This collection continues to grow as new scientific and technical information resulting from DOE research becomes available. This collection includes numerous non-governmental publications, as well as foreign and foreign language material.

It is produced and maintained by the Transportation Research Board of the US National Academies with sponsorship by State Departments of Transportation, the various administrations at the U.S. Department of Transportation, and other sponsors of TRB's core technical activities. ADAMS (Agencywide Documents Access and Management System)The Agencywide Documents Access and Management System (ADAMS) is an information system that provides access to all image and text documents that the Nuclear Regulatory Commission has made public since November 1, 1999, as well as bibliographic records (some with abstracts and full text) that the NRC made public before November 1999. Fogler Library at the University of Maine is the repository for an NRC technical report collection on microfiche, numbering nearly one hundred thousand documents. The fiche are housed in the Library Annex, with 24-hour advance notice required for staff retrieval. Fogler Library's collection dates only through October, 1999. However, the NRC continues to add several hundred new documents to ADAMS daily.

arXiv e-Print ArchiveStarted in August 1991, arXiv.org (formerly xxx.lanl.gov) is an archive and distribution server for research articles in physics, mathematics, computer science, nonlinear sciences, quantitative biology and statistics. arXiv is maintained and operated by the Cornell University Library with guidance from the arXiv Scientific Advisory Board and the arXiv Sustainability Advisory Group, and with the help of numerous subject moderators. Users can retrieve papers from arXiv via the web interface. Registered authors may use our web interface to submit their articles to arXiv. It is operated by Cold Spring Harbor Laboratory, a not-for-profit research and educational institution. Articles are not peer-reviewed, edited, or typeset, however all submissions have been screened for non-scientific content and are checked for plagiarism. If a preprint found in bioRxiv has been published in a journal, it will include a link to the published version. Authors are welcome to post preprints in order to make their findings immediately available to the scientific community, as well as receive feedback on draft manuscripts before they are submitted to a journal.

Maine Music BoxThe University of Maine's Fogler Library in partnership with the Bagaduce Music Lending Library and the Bangor Public Library has launched the Maine Music Box. The Maine Music Box contains digitized images of five collections of manuscript scores and sheet music. Most of the collections are from the Bagaduce Music Lending Library in Blue Hill, Maine. A total of 22,641 titles will be accessible when the digitization and cataloging of the pilot project is complete. Selected scores will have an associated computer generated sound file. Other scores, based on faculty request, may have associated “Scorch” files. Scorch software creates a file that allows one to listen while following a cursor through the score; the viewer may also manipulate key and instrumentation. The database currently has 22,641 titles with 600 MIDI files and 100 Scorch files.
